Vernacular 2046
By 2046, technology had grown sharp enough to serve the land instead of strip it. What came back was the vernacular. The Kula campus sits upcountry on the slopes of Haleakalā, in the cool, misted grasslands where the forest meets the pasture. The ʻōhiʻa lehua is the exemplar of the Kula Campus — a plant that roots in cooled lava, slow-growing, radial, resilient at the core. Its logic is the logic the campus is built from.
Vernacular 2046 is a world-building project developed in Supercraft AI to imagine a specific world twenty years in the future. I didn't start knowing where or what my world would be — it emerged through the design process itself, anchored by the ʻōhiʻa lehua and the upcountry Kula landscape I grew up in.
